Valentine’s Day is one of those days we look forward to in Nigeria and most parts of the world generally despite the fact that it’s not even a holiday. Irrespective of how many Valentine’s days we’ve witnessed in our lifetime, we still tend to have some misconceptions about it. Listed below are 3 of them.

1. It’s the perfect day to propose to a lady

This might have been true some decades ago but not anymore. These days, proposing to a lady on Valentine’s Day is a total cliché, and the fact that most ladies expect to be proposed to on this day eliminates the suspense that is supposed to come with a proposal. Guys, forget about those crocodile tears she shed. She saw it coming. Your valentine’s day is better spent doing more fun stuff.

2. Valentine’s day is all about the lady

Nope, it’s not. Guys are humans too and they’re way more emotional than you think so ladies, while he’s making plans for Valentine’s Day, you’d better be making your own plans to reciprocate. There are lots of valentine gifts for him you can get your man without breaking the bank.

3. Valentine’s day has to be celebrated with a partner

If you’re one of those people who never get to give themselves a treat, this is the day you should do that. Get yourself some gifts, take yourself out, go to the beach, cinema or wherever. There’s no law that states that you must be in a relationship to enjoy Valentine’s Day.
